Something that I've noticed about the fire effect is that while it sort of has the flickering look of a fire, the colors aren't right. The bottom part of the fire that looks like yellow on my screen turns out yellow with a greenish tinge on my pixels.
I tried modifying the dimming curves for the model(s) in question on the Layout tab, choosing the RGB Brightness/Gamma option, and making the Red value higher than the Green and Blue. That allowed be to make the yellow more of a "correct" yellow/orange on my pixels, but is causes pure white to look pinkish.
Fiddling around with the Hue on the Fire Effect itself doesn't allow the yellow to turn more orange, and fiddling with the Hue on the Color Window to get the yellow part look more yellow/orange causes the red flame part to turn more of a magenta color on my pixels.
It would be nice if there was a way to directly choose the colors in the fire, or if that's not possible, at least make the yellow part of the fire a bit more orange.

Maybe try the shader fire effect. I don’t think this is going to change.

Hm. Playinng around with the Shader effect, I discovered the issue was that the brightness slider on the Color window was cranked all the way to 400, rather than the "usual" 100. That fixed the Fire effect for me.
