Hi, I am having problem with the video effect on latest version of xlights. When I choose a video file for my video effect, it does not show up on my matrix. Am I the only one having this problem with the latest version? If so, what am I doing wrong? Thanks for your help.

Try turning off hardware video decoding.

Try turning off hardware video decoding.
[I did it but it's all black or blank.]

You may need to purge render cache and render all as well.
-
I did all that, but all I get is garbage graphics.

Maybe package your sequence and we can see if anything else is screwed up.

Hi. I'm sorry, but can you tell me how to go about packaging the sequence! I'm not familiar with how to do it. Thanks.

I wanted to take a look at this to see if I could see the issue. I think the problem is with your video file. 1 it is either to large for the size of your matrix or 2 it is corrupted. I grabbed one of my mp4 file save at 240p and I was able to get it to render and play on your setup. I don't normally use AVI files I almost always use mp4's. I hope that helps.

Thanks for the tip. I've used avi files last year with last year version of xlights and it work just fine. And I am able to play sequences that contains avi files that were done with older version of xlights. I will try to convert the file to mp4 to see if it will work.

Sometimes it is "simply" the codec that the video is encoded with. So either a different save format or re-encoded.

Thanks everyone for the tip. I converted my file to mp4 240p, so now it works.

Yeah that video i strange but I have fixed our video reader to handle it.
