Hey all,
I'm losing my mind this year. Rough year so far....high winds, freezing temps, snapping wires, and screwed up set ups. All of this is self-imposed, I added quite a few elements, but I can't fix the weather. Anyway, right now, my matrix is giving me a headache through xlights. I'm losing my #$%@
I have a 24x48 matrix on an alphapix 16 controller total of 1152 nodes. I've set it up as vertical matrix with 12 strings, each string with 96 nodes, and 4 strands per string. For some reason, the only way xlights properly plays my matrix sequences on the house preview is if I change the 4 strands to 3 strands. However, that does not play the sequence right when I output it.
I know I have 4 strands per string, with each strand with 24 nodes for a total of 96 nodes per string. This is killing me and I can't figure this out.
I'm attaching a picture of my controller set up in xlights, layout, and picture of my alphapix set up. Likely someone knows what I am doing wrong. I'm sure it is one of those simple things that I can't see because of my frustration levels this year with the weather.
Any help is greatly appreciated as always.

Not sure what you mean by xlights doesn't play the sequence right when you output it with 4 strands versus 3 strands. 4 seems like it would be correct, so what is the problem there?

In the house preview when I play my sequence after I render it, the matrix sequences are scrambled and not playing correctly. The only way it plays correctly is using 3 strands in the layout saving and rendering again. However, the 3 strands does not play correctly physically on the house when I output it. It just boggles my mind.

Why do you have individual start channels specified? My window matrix is 600 nodes. 20 col x 30 rows. 5 strings of 120 all connected together making a string of 600 with power injection at 240 and 480. I have that set as 5 strings with 4 strands (of 30) I do not use individual start channels, I have learned to just let xlights manage all that stuff.

Can you show a video or even a screenshot of it not paying correctly with the 4 strands? That doesn't make sense. Unless of course you need to do a render or are using an imported sequence.
