Title: xSchedule's "Hissy Fit" after Pre-show music
Post by: Tory Street Lights on December 16, 2019, 06:56:09 AM
xSchedule 64, as indicated in another thread, has run sweetly for 10 days or so, until tonight!

Background, I run a 30 min playlist of music, plus station Id's before the light display, 8.00pm - 8.30pm. At 8.30 the display schedule kicks in with 19 sequences, looping 5 times.  I have the sequences set to "Fast Start" the audio.

Tonight the pre-show music finished as usual, but the show playlist, when it started, only played the first item on the list, with no light output, and stopped.  I manually re-started the show, (play selected), and it played out correctly for the rest of the night, apart from, after the end of the first loop, it missed the first item on the playlist!!

I have attached the log file from tonight if someone who understands it could deduce what is going on and comment please!!

Thankyou,

Terry

I'm not as good as Keith on reading these but nothing sticks out to me.  I see the Voice track start like 6 seconds after 8.00pm and then the next log entry is you manually starting the playlist at 8.01pm.

Yeah not sure. It looks like with all your pre-loaded audio it is taking more than a minute to load the audio files ... I wonder if that is confusing it.

Thanks Keith, that was my thought as well, it certainly takes a finite time to load.  Funny that it has only shown up after all this time, maybe I remove the fast start from the audio files and see what happens ?

The machine does seem suddenly "sluggish" for some reason  :-(

Good run tonight with no fast start Audio, maybe that was the culprit,  43 Mins of audio to load in one hit is a sizeable amount of data, which takes time to load!  Without having to load the audio, the changeover from my "Pre-show" music to the Display Music/Sequences is immediate, with no real difference in the gaps between each sequence in the schedule.

Also, I see no entries in the Log file after the show  :-)

As an aside, we have had 3 -4 inches of rain in the last 24 hrs, and the "show goes on"  :-)
