Hi,
I've been experimenting with xLights and xLights Scheduler and have created a simple musical sequence with lights and another sequence with just a white light that turns on for a split second.
I have a midi controller plugged in and working in xLights Scheduler and I can switch within the sequences with my midi input, but when I do so the music stops and the second sequence (just the white flash with no music) overwrites the first sequence, plays the desired animation, but after the animation ends the first sequence doesn't continue.
Is this even possible to do with this software?
Any feedback appreciated.
Thanks

Have you tried xfade. It is more designed for live control. Much more like madrix.

If you want to do with xschedule you need to look at the event playlist commands as these play over the top of your song.

Thanks for your answers.
I've tried xfade now, but can't seem to get both ports working. Also is there a way to disable the effect repeating (just play it once)?
And what exactly did you mean by "event playlist commands"? is that the Events menu under Edit? If yes what command should I use?

Can you change settings on the fly with xfade?

One of the many apis xschedule supports are the play event playlist (there are several variants). These play over the top of any other sequence playing and you can have multiple if you like.

While you can change effect settings while xfade is running if the effect is playing it will keep resetting. It is not designed for changing the effect as it plays. There is from memory a speed slider though.
If you haven’t watched an xfade video I strongly suggest you do.

I've been able to get it working!
Turns out you have to have the sequences with the effects in the playlist BEFORE the actual musical sequence. I've used the "Run event playlist step" command in the events menu and it's working flawlessly.
Thanks for your help.
