Title: Defining States
Post by: Jacky Elliott on February 01, 2020, 11:39:12 PM
Is it possible to define more than one state to one letter. For example, if I have four states that I want to activate at the same time, I'd like to be able to place only one letter for the change in state.  As of now I have to put a unique letter (or combo) in each state. If I place, say an "e" in each state, then only the first state defined changes. It would be great if I could type "e" in all of the states that I would like to change.  Each state has different colors assigned and could benefit with a one letter command (or combo)

In my specific case, I am attempting to turn on portions of a hat, turn off a section of the hat, open eyes, have a colored pupil, and fill in a now uncovered portion of the face.  All this is one move that requires 5 unique letters to call the state.

Thanks

Define states:
Illinois, Iowa, California, Maine, Florida, ...   ;D

Just so I (and others know), what do you mean by "states"?

It sounds like a different state or you need to use layers.

States are used on models to change portions of the model when called on by a self defined lyric. Similar to singing faces except your able to define the state call instead of using a Phoneme.  It's one of the items on the model menu just like defining the  Singing faces

Keith it is different states. I was hoping to be able to call each state with one letter or definition. Another words, trying to simplify the motion when creating a multiple state change. Like with the moose, it moved EYES, ANTLERS and some other things. But for the state changes I am making, I don't need to move these components individually, I will always move them together. So being able to define those moves as the same letter for each state would simplify the lyric track. This way I could type "e" and have it activate all the states that is associated with "e". As of now, each state requires a separate assignment. I may not be explaining it properly. This may be something better for Zoom. But I can't get on Zoom for another couple weeks. So if it would better be tabled for now, I will catch you on there, but hopefully I've explained my thoughts halfway.
