Title: Color wash multiple colors at once
Post by: mitch09 on December 08, 2014, 01:11:07 PM
Is there an easy way to make nodes Static (on) alternating 2 or 3 colors?

Say Node 1 is Red, Node 2 is Green, Node 3 is blue, Node 4 is Red, Node 5 is Green, Node 6 is Blue and so on.

Then make them static and not move. I have been playing with effects in nutcracker and cannot get this to happen. I'm sure there must be a way.

You can do this if you think outside of the box and with a bit of effort.

Make 3 models of your Tree, or line or whatever it is you want to do this to.

Model 1 will have pixels 1,4,7,10
Model 2 will have pixels 2,5,8,11
Model 3 will have pixels 3,6,9,12

Red on Model1
Green on Model2
Blue on Model3

Now you can do red chases left to right, while blue chases right to left, etc.

I think the Single Strand skips effect would work perfect for this except it currently doesn't allow a skip size of 0.   I just changed that.   Right now, you could do a skip size 1 and have node 1,3,5,7,etc... be lit up with the desired alternate colors and be static.

Perfect! I actually use "skip" right now, but it left one node unlit for the "skip"
