Title: xL/NC Release 3.6.13. Couple of bugs, some small enhancements

XLIGHTS/NUTCRACKER RELEASE NOTES:
3.6.13 Dec 9, 2014
   -enh (dkulp) Allow a skip size of zero. This allow the skips effect to stand still
    -enh (djulien) Allow continue if port open fails (useful for diagnostics/debug)
    -enh (djulien) Add up-once and down-once options to Picture.
    -enh (djulien) Add Bubble option to Circles effect.
    -enh (djulien) Add Decaying Sine and Ivy/Fractal Wave options.
    -bug (djulien) Remove extraneous leading "-" in FV attr in xlights_papagayo.xml
    -bug (djulien) Sort list of channel#s in drop-down list on Papagayo tab

I am having trouble installing this version.  Its telling me "Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access them"

I have installed all other versions on this computer with no problems.

Any ideas?

try right click "Run as administrator"
i dont know why this is happening

Thanks Sean,

I tried this as well. Still the same.
I also completely uninstalled xlights and tried a clean install and still the same message.
I am however able to install 3.6.12 with no problems.

Windows OS 8.1

I guess I can wait for the next release and see if that helps.

I have Win 8.1 64bit and it had no problems. curious. I'm hoping you did re-download and try again?

I have Win 8.1 64bit and it had no problems. curious. I'm hoping you did re-download and try again?

I am also running win 8.1 64 bit. and have tried downloading several times.  Maybe it is my work filter corrupting the file?

Try booting in safe mode and install it. I wonder what is blocking it. I have installed on two laptops two desktops. Two of them Windows 7, two of them Windows 8.1. No issue. Must be something in your environment. I just don't know It is.

Thanks Sean. Don't know why I didn't think of installing in SAFE mode. Worked fine from there, however it did remove the xLights icon for some reason. Who knows!  It's working, and that is what I needed.

Well, it was working. I guess the problem was my antivirus. It detected xLights as a trojan and deleted it  :o
