The API extensions in xscheduler are fantastic!
I am using xscheduler for my Landscape Lighting as well as my xlight shows. This has created many, many Playlists and made it very difficult to navigate. So, I compacted all my Landscape Playlists into Steps in a single Playlist. I use Homeseer Automation to dim the lights and the "Play specified step in specified playlist looped" to run the landscape lighting. It works perfectly. I also created Rock, Christmas, Halloween etc. playlists and would like to play or loop a single song in the playlist by UI selection.
But, when I am using the Web or UI and select a step in a playlist, I can't "Play the selected playlist step looped". I tried to create an extra button but when it comes to "selection", you can only "Play the selected playlist" and "Play the selected playlist looped", There is no selected step control with the Web or UI.
Does anyone have any ideas how to do this? Having Playlist folders is another alternative to sorting multiple playlists and accomplishing the same thing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
All the best,
Doug

Everything you can do via the api in a single command you can do by adding a button and every button appears in the buttons plugin

Keith,
I'm sorry but I still don't understand.
If I select a Step in a Playlist via the UI, I don't believe I can set up a pushbutton to "Play the SELECTED playlist Step Looped". Via the API, I can specify a step to play looped, but I don't think I can loop a step based on the "Step I am pointing to on the screen with the UI".
The only SELECTION COMMANDS are:
1. Play the Selected Playlist
2. Play the Selected Playlist Looped
Thru the API I can "Run event playlist step looped" but that is specified not SELECTED. If I create a button with this and don't enter parameters, the button is never available.
If I am missing something, I would greatly appreciate you setting me straight.
All the best and stay safe,
Doug

There are no commands for playing any steps (looped or not) where you dont need to specify the playlist and step name. I would need to look to add that.

This will be in .20. You do know you can click the loop icons in the toolbar to toggle looping on and off.
-
Yes, but if I select a STEP in a PLAYLIST and "Play" it, then it allows me to toggle the "loop" icon but... unfortunately the STEP does not loop, it just stops at the end of the STEP.
It seems that the "looping" icon only works for PLAYLISTS in their entirety.
I look forward to .20
Thanks for all of your help and patience.

There are two looping icons. One does the playlist. The other does the step.

That works !! I don't know how I missed it!
I am hoping to have an "End Of Covid" Party in July. Is there any possibility "mic input" to the colour organ might be working by that time? I would love to have music streaming in the background and my lights beating to the music.
Again, I want to thank you for your response and patience. This is an awesome piece of software.
All the best,
Doug

Covid is not going anywhere by July. But maybe.

We are still in lock down here in the Santa Clara Valley with hopes of opening up mid May.
My son is at the University of Oregon and actually celebrated in a sit down restaurant tonight with his girlfriend!
Here's hoping that we will all see some relief by the end of June. Our 1st responders are going to need the break. We should send them off on a paid vacation. :)
Take care and be safe,
Doug

Keith - FYI,
I downloaded and installed new release xschedule v2020.20 64 bit.
I created a new button (Play Step Looped) and used the new "Play selected playlist step looped" command.
When I select a playlist step (on the Screen) and press the "Play Step Looped" button, the step plays once and then stops.
I have tried creating new playlists with new STEPS and had the same result.
Of course using the Web interface with the "LOOPED" toggle still works.
All the best,
Doug
