I know this is more of a PC problem, as this works fine with my laptop. Ok I have a win10 desktop PC 64bit, and when I attach a video in schedule I get black box. I know this PC has an issue playing video using ms movie&TV as do a ton of people. Videos open fine using media player, Or other video apps. I have a sync video sending card in this PC for my led display panel, I wanted to play certain video on display in sync with sequences. Videos play fine on laptop, but not on this machine. Has an earlier i7 with 12gb ddr3. And ssd's 4gb video card, this PC is very fast, but I think has codec problems. Video card drivers are all upto date, all other video players work on PC except ms movie and TV app. And now xlights 😪😪any ideas?

Maybe install vlc it comes with a bunch of codecs.
I would also check logs. Xlights logs every time it opens a video and may tell you what or why it is failing.

I had done that, installed a few programs that claimed to have every codec, but didn't help, what did work now call me stupid,,lol don't know why i didn't see this earlier was all i had to do was click play in media player... lol I guess i over looked that as i didn't have to check it on laptop
