Title: Where are preferences stored (Windows and Mac)?
Post by: nmiller0113 on November 24, 2020, 10:35:48 AM
I know that you can use the -w option to wipe settings but I was curious where these are stored as they seem to survive a program uninstall as well as blowing out any standard folders and xlights specific XML setting riles. I thought I had seen this somewhere before but I cannot find it anywhere. Thanks!

On windows it is stored in the registry: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\xLights

The Mac uses the sandbox containers.   Thus, it would be ~/Library/Containers/org.xlights

Wiping out that directory would remove pretty much all traces of xLights that aren't part of the show directory.   The log files, preferences, security bookmarks, etc...
