Just starting out on this adventure. I am an Entertainment Lighting Tech so i understand all of the tech but it is the small things that trip me up. Because im just starting out i want to start small, so can a ESP8266 NodeMCU work on Xlights software. I really like the platform it reminds me a little of programing a Lighting console for a show. please help
Thank you

You need to install the espixelstick or wled firmware both of which will receive e131 from xlights.

Thank you that helps a lot. The only thing that scares me is wifi. And good low cost wired pixel controllers or should I just invest and get a F16V3?

Wifi should scare you. It?s not that they don?t work. Some people see lots of success. Others have nothing but drama. But it?s like a box of chocolates. When you turn your show on you never know what you?re going to get.
