Title: Cube around mesh
Post by: raythe54 on February 10, 2021, 03:55:34 PM
Hi, all,

If my "cube" around my mesh model is 45 degrees off, does that mean by obj file came in incorrectly and I should (somehow) adjust in sketchup?

Thanks,
Ray

If the boundary box is rotated 45 degrees then you must have rotated it.  Check the Size and Location parameters and look at the rotation fields.  Yes you could go fix it and re-import but as long as you rotate it and are happy with the look it shouldn't matter.

Thank you for the response.

I have been doing that, but the boundary box and mesh move and rotate as one, so the relationship never changes. Is there a way to move them independently that I'm missing?

Hoping to give this a little bump.

Is it possible to rotate the boundary box around the mesh (without moving the mesh) - or does it not matter and I should chill out? :)

Thanks

No the boundary box is showing the boundaries of the object.  When you rotate the object you are also rotating its boundaries.
