Title: A Sequence is Suddenly Crashing xLights 2021.24
Post by: joelchristmas on August 07, 2021, 02:37:26 PM
When attempting to open my preschool 30-minute countdown sequence, xLights immediately crashes.  This is new.  xLights 2021.24 opened it just fine yesterday (literally, yesterday).  According to the OS, the file has not been modified since March.  It just can't be opened anymore.

xLights 2021.24
Mac OS 11.4

The crash logs and sequence are attached.

It's crashing trying to load the fseq file.   The easy "fix" is to just delete the fseq file.   It can be recreated so it's not a big deal.   Not sure why it's crashing though.  Maybe the file became corrupt somehow?   Don't really know.  :(

That worked!  I deleted the fseq and it opened right up.  Weird...but it works now!  Thank you very much!

@dkulp ... if you look in the crash log file he uploaded I added some warnings which occur a lot in this sample. I didnt change the logic because I was concerned i would break something but the code looks like it changes the size of a block of memory but not the actual memory itself. Maybe that helps isolate why this might be happening. From the log it does not crash immediate so it may be a furphy but equally it could just be lucky for a bit and then crash.
