Hi I am new to Xlights. I would like to import everything in a sequence even though I do not have enough things to map to. Is this possible? Also it seems you can only import 1 to 1 you cannot map multiple things to same model/device?
I ended up opening another instance of Xlights and just adding a bunch of string lights just to map everything and then copying and pasting to my display . Just wondering if there is a better way ?
Thanks for your time. Ron.

You can run the Import multiple times. I believe if it tries to import an effect and one already exists it just creates a new layer.

Thank you Sir !!! That seems to work.

It doesn?t create a new layer it just doesn?t import any effects that overlap with effects already there.

It is not 1 to 1 mapping. You can import to multiple items. Although the entry gets greyed out to indicate that it has been mapped you can grab the greyed out item and drag it to another prop.

I want to add multiple items to same prop

Then just run import multiple times. Once for each thing you want to import. Note you can?t overlap effects on import. To do that you need layers and import onto another model and move the imported data. It?s fiddly but it works.

Well the SuperStar import I wrote does create new layers wasn't sure about the other options.

It does but that is a single mapping. Importing a model with multiple layers does the same but if you try to import 2 models onto the same model I don?t even think superstar import keeps adding layers.

Thanks to all Responding, I know I can make groups to import multiple layers, I only needed to know what the forms were? like

What I done to find answers that no one can provide was to replicate a prop that had all the significations that i was requesting, then mapped to my wiring diagram. see link, i have on goggle drive only can open with link posted above
