Title: 1 strand, multiple directions
Post by: smtodd@gmail.com on November 21, 2021, 07:03:58 PM
1 have 1 strand with 290 nodes. Each 29 needs to go a different direction. (tree strung up/down/up/down/up/down/etc) but I need them all to go up. I knew how to do this on the Falcon F16v3, but i'm using xlights to control everything now so just looking for a tip on this.
Thanks in advance!

# Strings = 1
Nodes/String = 290
Strands/String = 10

# Strings is the number of controller connections.
Nodes/String is the total number of pixels/nodes on that string.
Strands/String is the number of times it zig-zags.

I'm doing this from memory, so check out the xlights manual to be sure.

Great Feedback. Now let's say hypothetically speaking, one of those "strands" has 1 extra pixel. how do i account for that?

cut it off.  LOL  Depending on how you wire it you can declare one null pixel at the end of the string.
