Title: How to output a test sequence from Xlights
Post by: shnick2102 on December 12, 2021, 02:32:14 PM
This is my 2nd year running a show and I just upgraded to the new version of Xlights.  Im wondering how can I test and see my sequence on the actual models and mega tree?  Last version all I had to do was click on the output to lights tab on the top menu and my lights would be displayed outside.  Now I have no idea how to do it.  Can anyone please help?  Thank you in advance

Same thing .. click on the light bulb to output to lights - I am thinking your font/screen size is too big so that icon is off the screen to the right. See if you can click and drag some of the toolbars down.

If you saying the outside strings do not lite then click on both the on "Out to light" Icon and also click on one of the sequences below (not sure why but that works for me).

My favorite Test is to create an Animation, default length of 30 seconds.
All Models
On any model with pixels, create at 10 second Red, a 10 second Green and a 10 second Blue.

When you play this, it tests all your pixels and ensures you have the correct RGB setup (which you can then fix if they aren't all the same).

I do something very similar to JonB256

I have two 120 second test sequences that I put in a test play list.

First one is 30sec Red, 30sec Green, 30 sec Blue, 30 sec White. This lets me see if all my colors are correct.

Second on is Red,Green,Blue,Blank bars moving to Right for 30 seconds the moving up for 30 seconds. This lets me see if props are hooked up in the right order.
