I have a Falcon F16V3 controller and a few props. The number of pixels used in the props is less than the number of pixels in the light string. In other words, the prop uses 130 pixels but there are 150 pixels in the string. I have not removed the extra pixels. To This channel I want to add another prop that uses 100 pixels. The problem is that 20 pixels in the new prop are unlit and 20 extra pixels on prop1 light up. Xlight complains about the gap when I upload controller configuration.
I have tried using Start Channel and absolute addressing but it's not working. The props are wired to port 2 of controller with prop 1 being the first off the port.
Prop 1 130 pixels, 150 pixels (20 unused) start channel 300, end 689
Prop 2 100 pixels, 100 pixels ( 0 unused) start channel 750, end 1049
I appreciate any suggestion.

There was a video during the Virtual Christmas Summit on the subject that might help you.

Its best to go ahead and cut the string and make the number of pixels exact. What are you going to do if a pixel goes bad because then you'll need to know how to cut and splice in a couple pixels. I like using heat shrink butt connectors...no soldering required just a heat gun to shrink the connector after crimping.
