Title: New to Xlights and having trouble with the Test

Hello, I am new to setting up a christmas display.  I wanted to start with just a megatree for the first year and then expand.  I have my megatree and star assembled but am having trouble connecting up with xLights.

I downloaded xLights, setup my Alphapix 16 controller per the instructions, inserted a Boyscoyo 23.3 star, used the visualizer to move it to port 9 which is where it is plugged into my controller.

The testing on the controller works fine.
The testing through my web ip interface works.
I have uploaded the output from within XLights and there is a green dot to the right of the Delete button.
When I go to tools, test, and select my model it doesn't do anything, I have selected various options. 
Clearly I am missing something....  Please let me know what  images I need to post to get some guidance on what to do next.

Thanks and looking forward to getting started with animated lights.

Are you selecting the Output to Lights button?

Looks like my controller was still in test mode, so I switched my controller to normal and I'm getting the test to output in xlights now. New question, which I will post in a new thread regarding actually exporting my show to my controller.
