I had an older 12 v power supply in my display that is several years old. This year it was powering a small matrix of 432 pixels at 40% and a prop of 62 pixels at 40%. I had the two props in my basement all summer using them sometimes for testing my sequences. They always worked well. I set up my show and both props acted up, improper effects, slow, freezing. I noted one time that the pixels were very dim. I bought in the controller Which was also my f-48 and checked it out. If a power supply is going bad, could it put "noise" in data line? I changed the power supply just in case and had no other issues. How could I test it or should I just chuck it?

Its funny you say that. I had one of my setups do the same thing. I changed everything and last, the power supply At first it worked great and back it came all the issues. Ended being the Cat 5 cable that tested fine but was bad. changed that I was good for the season...

I did not change the data cable. I even changed the receiver, just to be sure, while I had the box in the house. I did not have any issues after. I'm trying to figure how to test the power supply now.

Did you try a different port on the F48 I pulled a cable it tugged the port is now messed up. I was waiting until now to take it down to see if i can fix it. it also will give you the same issues

After I replaced the power supply everything worked well. I have been testing the power supply today, I had about an 8 - 10-amp load and the power supply seemed very warm. Like I noted this power supply is old, so I think it was a power issue. I think I will replace another one in my display this year to be safe. Charlie J.
