Title: Whole house Model
Post by: Lights On Fifth on January 08, 2015, 11:20:31 AM
I have successfully built my whole house model, not bad for a non computer type of guy, here is what I am running into, when I open a sequence (which has my pixel tree in it) I add the whole house in the display model, then I copy and paste, hit save, go to preview and hit play, on the playback it is showing the right side of my display as very faded, can hardly see it. Now when I open another seq and go to display models I check off each individual model and then copy and paste, hit save go to preview and hit play, everything works perfectly, anyone else experiencing this or just me?

dave pitts made it so the whole house model is grayed out. we think that the PREVIEW only has the models that make up the whole house display. The only place you use the WHM is in the grid.

maybe, i dont understand your question

Since I hop around between the WHM and the other models during the course of the show, I like having them all visible on the screen.

I usually park the WHM in the top left corner of my screen, sized down to about 20% of my other models so that it doesn't interfere... but I get that other view of the display by looking at the corner.

Okay I will try to ask this differently, when I use the WHM when I am sequencing and I copy and paste,
I save everything then I go to the preview tab and open the sequence that I just saved, in the playback mode half of the screen is almost invisible, but yet when I open the sequence in the sequence tab and I click on display elements and I click each individual element and hit ok, then copy and paste, then save it then go to preview and play the sequence everything works perfect. does this make more sense?

When you say you are copy and pasting do you mean you are copying an effect from another column and pasting it into the WHM column?  One thing to keep in mind is the effects won't look the same across the WHM as they do pasted onto each element.  Like if you had a bars effect across each element with 3 colors say red, white, and blue then every element will show all 3 colors but if you paste that same effect onto the WHM then some elements will only be one color because the 3 bars will distribute across the entire house not across each element.   Or maybe I'm not understanding what you're doing.

Disregard the OP today when I went into Xlights and previewed the sequences they all worked perfectly, no idea what happened yesterday, but today is a new day, excuse me while I go bang my head on the wall for a few minutes. ( not even sure that will help ).
