Title: Mega tree
Post by: THurrle on January 25, 2014, 07:03:16 AM
Probably a simple question.
When setting up channels many of the elements in my show are led and multiple channels and colors such as my  mini trees. They will not be rgb. I will assign the channels and colors too run these elements on renard off a com port.  However, my pixel tree will be 2520 channels. If I am correct in thinking I do not have to designate 840 channels red, 840  channels green and 840  channels blue. Nutcracker will take care of which channels are which colors when you build you models. Once I convert the sequence back to the software I am using to sequence the model will be on the pixel  tree. Is this correct?
Thanks
Terry

You a correct Nutcracker does all the channel assignments after you give the model a start address. The easiest way to bring you effects back to your sequencing program is create a model in Nutcracker make the effects you would like save them and then export that model as a clip borad, for me it is a LOR clip board then paste in place making sure that paste from foreground is on before pasting other wise you will lose all the sequencing below the model, that is if you are using LOR. hope this helps

Your mega tree is 840 rgb nodes. Say it starts on channel 1025,

You build the mega tree model, set the models starting track. Add an effect, like butterfly. Save it as an xseq file.

Now don't use "export", use "export model" and create a lcb file for lor, vir for vixen.

Export model will only export the channels that are defined in a model.

Export will produce every channel defined in the setup tab.

Thanks Sean. That information is exactly what I was looking for.
