Bugs in xLights/Nutcracker / 2019.3 and 4 issues
« on: January 12, 2019, 05:05:01 PM »
Anyone else having issues with lyric tracks in 2019.3 version when breaking down the words for a singing element it stops and loads the dictionary again? My wife is having this issue. She tried 2019.4 but had to go back to .3 because when opening a sequence file it threw a message that said it couldn't find the sequence file but the sequence file actually loaded. she is about to go back to the last good version of 2018.

The issue on 2019.3 with break down word only happens when the sequence is opened after the dictionary downloads it doesn't do it. She said 2018 version did not do this. I have screen captures if needed.

The issue with 2019.4 I do not have a screen capture since she has already reverted to 2019.3

There were no crash files as the system didnt actually crash. .

Thank you for the reply.

Just so I understand. If I want to schedule a show I only need the fseq file and mp3 file? But if I want to open it in xlights to change the sequence I need all of them (assuming a lor conversion is part of it)?

Is only the fseq file required to play the show?  I am so confused about all the files and at one point my XML files were completely screwed up and I couldn't do anything with the sequences. My trouble started when I tried to transfer files from one PC to the next. I figured out I had to update the path in the xml file. Then I had trouble with getting an invalid header for the xml file. Ultimately I found the problem had to do with the version of NC.  My wife had programed in vision .18 and I had .21 installed on the show computer. In the end I erased everything on the showed converter downloaded version .18 and copied the show directory from my wifes computer. Everything is now working.

Can anyone provide a brief description of the various files NC creates. Specifically Fseq Iseq  Xseq and xml.

Thanks!

John

Bugs in xLights/Nutcracker / Re: Bug on exit
« on: November 12, 2015, 04:20:15 PM »
Thanks Gil!!  I will try that.  My wife says she seen issues when she deletes a large amount of effects when modifying a sequence. I don't have that bug report available though. I will capture it if she continues to have the issue and start a new thread. Thanks again!!

We have been saving consistently throughout the sequence creation. and always prior to exiting. when we exit we get the bug. when we open the sequences are still saved correctly. these are lor converted sequences that we are adding NC effects after the import. We import by creating a sequence and then importing the LOR sequence. Except for the bug on closing it seems to be working ok. I am not using data layers as far as I know.

We have been using XL4 for about a month and love the effects. it seems after we get a series of effects into the sequence we are able to successfully save it but on exiting we get a bug report generated. We are able to open XL again and the sequence is intact. My wife is using a dual core intel machine running windows 7. I am running an alienware laptop with an I7 processor with 12 gig of ram and windows 10.  The bug always comes on exit. Attached is the latest bug report from my system.
