As you know, xSchedule has an extra section where xSchedule can be driven by other hardware.  Has anyone had experience with ETC lighting consoles that mainly use the OSC protocol (and xSchedule has that option to read) Have you had success making the console manipulate an attached PC running xSchedule.  And if so how?  Thanks in advance.

Bugs in xLights/Nutcracker / Possible bug
« on: January 03, 2017, 04:22:58 PM »
I start with a blank set up, new install, I am trying to set up LED, single color snowflakes.
I set up controllers and E1.31 items.
In the models area,
Click   Create New Custom
Click and Drag one of the four blue corner points to make the item smaller.
In Model data click to edit, and at Cell C 3 enter a 1
At start channel enter a channel number.   Select radio button in offset for    None absolute
Then the blue corner points reset to larger area. I resize them to small again, click save, then go through the other models I have already made, some of their sizing points have also changed to a much larger area.  Not all the models do it however.

Let me know if I didn't tell u everything

Nutcracker Models / Bug in the Models Section ??
« on: July 26, 2014, 03:31:08 PM »
Sean,

I was on the 07.24.14 call.  You answered my question on how to get a spiral on the bottom third of the tree, then have that effect step to the middle, and so on by making multiple models.  That question was answered at 1h11mXXs on the 07.24.14 call, if needed.

Your suggestion worked liked it should and exported to LOR without a hitch.

The bug is when I try to look at the node layout  in my "third of a tree" model, xLights crashes.

OK, from the top:
Load xLights
Create a new :10 sequence
Insert a row
Click display elements, select "bottom third", my model that is the bottom 7 rows of my mega tree matrix.
In Combined Effect section click on models, highlight "Bottom Third".
Click Node Layout
Get the error message "xLights has stopped working".  Only option is to click Close Program.

How I created the model:
In Excel I created a number grid from 1-600.  30 col by 20 rows
(Details if needed The Number 1 is in cell B53, num 100 is in cell F34, 101 is in G53, 200 is in K34, 201 is in L53 and so on.  This matches the node layout for my full mega tree in xLights.  BTW: I can see the mega tree node layout without any issues)
In xLights I clicked Models, then New.
Gave it a title
Chose Custom, Selected Width 30 Height 20
In Excel, highlighted the number grid, right click, sel copy
In xLights click on cell A1, right click, sel paste, and all the numbers go into cell A1.  Ctrl V returns the same result.  (another bug ?)
Press and hold Del until the cell is empty
Click on cell A1 again
Clicked the clip board icon next to the help button, and the numbers load into the grid.  Number 1 in cell A 20 number 600 at AD 1
To make the bottom third model, I click on the number 8 in cell A9, press shift, and up arrow to cell A1, then right arrow to cell AD1, highlighting the top two thirds, of the grid, and then I click the scissors / cut icon.
I click OK, and the bottom third is done
Start the process over again, paste the two thirds of the grid starting at cell A1, highlight the top 7 rows, click cut, that gives me my Middle Third Grid, click OK, Click New, paste  the clip board at cell A1, for 6 rows of numbers for the top third, label that top third, click OK, and I am done.

If I click on any of those three models in the Models List Window and click Node Layout, the software crashes.

I look forward to your thoughts.  Let me know if you need more details.

Best,

Joel

Was this session recorded?

If so what is the link?

First, thanks for the great program.  There is huge amounts of brain power in this software.

Item one.  I would like to see in the set up configuration phase, a selection for a Fold or Wrap of the light strand.  or perhaps fold and wrap.  I know Vegamatic has it that way.
For example, assuming a 360 degree tree, 100 node strings, 20 nodes per strand for a total of 5 strands per string.
In using the San Devices controller, if the Zig Zag box is checked for a mega tree, node 1 is starting from the bottom of the strand one and node number 20 is at the top of strand one, node 21 is at the bottom of strand 2.  But in xLights, node 21 is at the top of strand 2.  Also for the more numbers challenged (me) doing it the way it is in xLights now puts node 10 on strand one and node 30 in strand 2 in different positions (off by one)  Yes, I know that is how counting works but to do something on the fly in the LOR grid, it would be easy (easier) to  just click  node 10,50, 70, 90 and know they would be across from each other.

Item two.  I use xLighs to create a light effect for 5 to 30 seconds, then export it to be imported into LOR.
The xLights set up only allows whole seconds. So if I need 10.14, I have to create 11 seconds.  Then I hope I get lucky when coping the timing that I get a 10.14 timing section.  So it would be great if when I am starting to create a sequence to export that I could ask for xx.xx seconds.
