Do You Need Help? Post it here / Re: XL with 2 e682's issues

I don't see any obviously wrong with your setup.  It looks to me like you have one long contiguous group of channels - Controller 1 ends at Universe 5 Channel 48 and Controller 2 picks up at Universe 5 Channel 49.  This all makes sense.  When you test the channels it works right?  Have you double checked how your Models are mapped to make sure they are properly mapped to the channels on controller 2?

My Show Setup / Re: First sequence for 2015 thanks to Xlights

Double click on the megatree model.   That should expand the strands.  The light sabers are strand effects, not model level.

Wow - I forgot all about the strand effects...  I remember when they were introduced and I thought how cool... Then I got busy with something else and never played with them.  Thanks for the info.  I have it all working now.  And thanks again Logan for sharing.

No worries - Want to thank you again for sharing.  I have the correct XML file I was just surprised by how it populates the models.   I even started with a completely empty show folder and copied your rgb_effects file and I get the same result where I don't see the correct effect on the timeline for your mega-tree during the light saber sequence.  It shows up as the "off" effect yet the effect plays the light sabers perfectly.  (needless to say that really confuses me)

If you can share what effect it shows up for you I would be grateful.

This was really well done.  It looks amazing.  My big weakness is sequencing so I was taking a bit of time to see how you put this together.

I was trying to determine how the lightsaber worked at the beginning of the sequence.

When I pulled in the xml file it plays as expected on my display, however, I can't for the life of me figure out how the lightsaber scene works.

My mega tree has two layers and during the scene my first layer shows an "off effect" and the second layer is empty.... yet the lightsaber is there in the model preview window.  What am I missing.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

Not for Halloween yet. but that may change soon.  Considering a ship battle with a neighbor across the street but the idea is in it's infancy.

I posted this over on the Falcon board where I spend most of my time but the truth is you guys deserve your own post.

Thank You -Developers, testers, and documenters.  While I have been fighting rain and moisture issues I am still successfully implementing the additions to my halloween show.  This just wouldn't be possible without both the Falcon and Xlights/Nutcracker teams.  My daughters think I'm a mad genius with the addition of the cannons my daughter dreamed up.  Here's a tiny video showing the test of the cannon tonight.

So Thank you!

Here's a brief video of the test:  https://vimeo.com/143951057

That surprised me as well...  I joined over here back in January of last year but never posted.  I guess I spend most of my time over at the Falcon site.  I need to do a better job of spreading my self around.

I know, I know - never satisfied...

Aubrey Kall taught a class at the Expo where she used LOR to subdivide timing marks.  She went through and manually set the Bars and Measures in the timing track.  This is almost automatic with the VAMP plugin now.  She would then choose a 4 bar measure and subdivide it into 16 beats by choosing the measure and using a subdivide option in LOR.  It would be really nice if we could subdivide timing marks.   This would just about completely remove my need for Audacity.

Thank You,
Alan
