Not directly, but this is a nice tool you can use that will do a conversion for you.

Do You Need Help? Post it here / Re: Receiver on Falcon Serial Port

Thanks.  I didn't see a way to do it, but wasn't sure if there was a hidden way.  Probably be more complicated than it is worth to add it.

Do You Need Help? Post it here / Receiver on Falcon Serial Port
« on: January 03, 2020, 10:43:02 AM »
Is it possible to configure a receiver on serial output port of a falcon controller entirely thru xlights?  I know it can be done manually.  I know DMX and other types can be set for the serial ports.  But haven't seen a way to do that thru xlights, and just wondering if it was possible or not.  Not something I need to do, just curious.

On the sequencer tab, right click when over the name of one of the models, and then scroll down to "edit display elements".  That will bring up a window where to can add or remove models to the list of what is being shown.

When on the sequencer, double click on the model and it will bring up the strings you have for that model.  Double click again, and it will bring up each node.  You can put an effect on each of those.  Note that is going to be lots of work, and if you change something in the layout, it will likely not map well, so there are other better ways to do it.  But that can be done if desired.

« on: December 19, 2019, 01:01:20 PM »
xLights has to files that it will save for each sequence, the XML and the FSEQ.  The xml is what xlights reads to show the layout, models, and effect settings for everything.  That file is used to create the FSEQ file, which is what makes the lights turn on and off in a format the controllers understand.  When you are saving the file in xlights, you will only see the XML option for opening and saving because that is what the program uses.  By default, it will save the FSEQ file in the same directory as the XML when you save the XML.  If you turned off the save FSEQ option (as Gil said earlier), or changed the directory for the location of the FSEQ, you are going to need to change that back or manually find the location.

Under edit, there are two options   - shift effects and shift selected effects.  Positive numbers move it later in the song (to the right), negative numbers are earlier.  Time is in milliseconds, and the number has to be a multiple of your sequence timing settings.  In other words, if you set the sequence for 100 ms, you can't move something 25 ms earlier, because that is too small.

Missing audio is often a culprit.

Xlights Setup / Re: Losing my mind - Matrix Scramble
« on: December 04, 2019, 12:23:57 PM »
In the house preview when I play my sequence after I render it, the matrix sequences are scrambled and not playing correctly.  The only way it plays correctly is using 3 strands in the layout saving and rendering again.  However, the 3 strands does not play correctly physically on the house when I output it.  It just boggles my mind.

Can you show a video or even a screenshot of it not paying correctly with the 4 strands? That doesn't make sense.  Unless of course you need to do a render or are using an imported sequence.

Not sure what you mean by xlights doesn't play the sequence right when you output it with 4 strands versus 3 strands.  4 seems like it would be correct, so what is the problem there?

In xlights, under the controller settings for those models, do you have them set as "reverse" instead of "forward"?

Falcon Hardware / Re: Falcon F4v3 help please

Sounds like you need to configure the string ports via the web interface, or upload the configuration from xlights.  By default, the controller is set up only to run 50 pixels per port unless you adjust that.

What new effects you would like to see / Re: House views
« on: December 04, 2019, 05:25:52 AM »
On the layout tab, to the right of where you select the model type, there is a drop down that can be used to add multiple previews, which could be different sides of the yard, different houses, or whatever.  Can even make that in 3D and put them all in the same view.

For more information on that, go to:

I've never seen the proxy entered by name, only number.  Might want to change that and see if it works.  May work by name, but I have never seen anyone try that before.
