Xlights Setup / Re: Lag in 3D preview

I've never experienced this.  Can you say a bit more about your hardware, xLights version, and OS?

Enhancement Requests / Re: Nodes in Custom models

Right Click -> Node Layout is the quickest way that I know of.

I've only tried a few, but the ones I tried animate.

If you have a reasonable size that loads but doesn't animate, you'll have to share so that someone can try to reproduce.

Actually, can you
1) Are you compiling your self or using appImage
2) Share your house model
3) Share your animated image.

I just tested with 2019.15, complied myself on Uubuntu 18.04.02.  I tested the animated image in the issue linked above and it worked fine.

For awareness, there is an open issue where animated gifs crash under linux.

Bugs in xLights/Nutcracker / Re: Crash 2019.15 random
« on: March 04, 2019, 06:37:27 PM »
I couldn't reproduce your problem using HEAD branch of xLights.  Using the files form xLightsProblem-1.  I tested the following.

1) Opened xLights
2) Opened your seuqnce
3) Added a line element
4) Saved it
5) In the sequence did a right click and "Edit Display Elements"
6) Removed the line model
7) Saved
8) In the sequence did a right click and "Edit Display Elements"

Nutcracker Effects / Canvas Blend-- Thanks!
« on: May 12, 2018, 08:48:50 AM »
Keith,

I believe in both of your last two "whats new" videos, you talked about how few folks would leverage the new Canvas option for blending Layers.   I just wanted to say thanks for adding it.   There have been numerous times where I wanted to "merge" multiple layers together and then manipulate it as one or use it as a master mask/unmask.   It unleashes a whole lot of power!

Thanks,
Greg.

Nutcracker Effects / Re: How to make a lid effect on my mini trees?
« on: February 18, 2018, 09:11:33 AM »

If you have something you like going up, try using the Layer-Panel->Roto-Zoom and change the Rotation Level.  This generally works, but as show in this video (around 2:30) a few effects are not perfect.    (Going up is fine, but coming down there are a few artifacts.)

Well.   I tried Chrome and wget (as shown above) yesterday.   Both had the problem.

Repeated again today and it is working  (with both Chrome and wget as well as on multiple remote servers).    Whatever the problem was, it is gone now....

Guess I just don't have good luck.   Tried to download from VMs in Nevada, New Jersey, Chicago, and my home server in Ohio.   None of these allowed me to download the 64-bit installer file.

Tested from multiple clients (Linux and Windows) and multiple ISPs.   I'm guessing it is a server issue.

Note: 32-bit works fine, so it appears to be limited to the 64-bit file.

I can now get the image to display, but the brightness slider still doesn't work.

Original image and slider work just fine in Windows port.

Using Ubuntu 14.04.3 LTS with 4.3.01.     On the layout page, selecting an Image seems to work but the image is never displayed.   The Brightness slider doesn't have a slide line which *could* be part of the problem, but I don't see the model groups either so it is likely more.  There is a small blue box which *may* be the image.  Hitting "Set Size" doesn't adjust it either.   (Picture attached).

Thanks,
Greg.
