General Software / screen saver
« on: January 14, 2020, 03:28:16 PM »
Is there a setting somewhere that will allow the screen saver to still activate when xSchedule is running? I don't remember the screen staying on in past years but this year it does. When its not running the screen saver and screen power down works, just not when xSchedule is running. Not a huge deal but if there is something I can do I would.
Thank you

General Software / Re: xschedule web interface

OK Thank you Gilrock. That has me there. I didn't understand that the access was through the IP of the computer itself. Now I can access the web interface from the actual computer at both the .1.x network and the .2.x network using the IP setting for each NIC. Thank you so much!!!

Im sure I must be missing something simple but for the life of me I cant get this.
on my phone when I am on the 192.168.1.x network, if I enter 192.168.1.109 I don't get anything.
If I'm on the 192.168.2.x network, same thing. On the desktop running xschedule, using Edge or chrome if I try 192.168.1.109 or 192.168.2.109, is get nothing. From xschedule the page shows up. From an article I read about 'localhost' I tried 127.0.0.1 on the desktop and I get xschedule. But that doesn't work on the phone. I tried changing the web server port ( in options) to 81 and 8080 but still nothing. I can access the Falcon boards on both the desktop and phone.
I am assuming that x.109 is the correct location, if it can be set differently, how do I do that?
I went to Win10 firewall settings and set all versions of xschedule to both public and private network and still nothing
Please, what am I missing? right now I'm happy with looking like an idiot for missing something easy.

Thank you

General Software / xschedule web interface

How can I find the IP address of the xschedule web interface? I just added a second NIC and forced the show to 192.168.1.5. My home network is x.x.2.x. Previously I cold access xschedule at 192.168.1.109 but not since I added the new card. Where should I find it on.1.x or .2.x? I can access it from xschedule but it shows 'http://localhost/xScheduleWeb/index.html?page=home'. I want to be able to access this on an android device, which I could before. I can't remember how I figured out the  .1.109 before, that was a couple of years ago

Xlights Setup / Re: Set an Audio Device
« on: December 13, 2017, 11:22:09 AM »
Hello Keith
I see in the latest update (.41) you have added the ability to select an audio output device. How should it work? On my screen the box is always grey. I can drop down the list and select the device I want, but when I play a step manually the sound still comes out the default device. Is there a set of steps I need to take to get this to work?

I had downloaded a program the allows me to select the device but I would much rather use xSchedule to do this if I can

Thank you so much for this additional feature.

Xlights Setup / Set an Audio Device

Using xSchedule, is there a way to select an audio output device for that application only? What my thought is that I can use a USB audio jack and plug the FM transmitter into it. then when xSchedule runs that audio can output to it only. But if using other applications at the same time, their audio can come out the desktop speakers and not go to the FM transmitter.
Im using Win 10 if that makes a difference

Thank you Gil. I cant quite get all you spec'd but trying to get as close as possible. I've got a couple of computer guys telling me that a good SSD will boost speed by quite a bit. Can xLights take advantage of an SSD as well?

thank you

Im looking at getting a new sequencing computer and would like to know what components will give the the best bang for my buck. How much RAM is optimal? Does a video card make much difference? Does more cores in the CPU add much performance? This computer will only be used for sequencing, so its not running a bunch of other applications.
I've been looking at a number of refurbished computers, but the specs varry quite a bit and I'm not sure which features will help xLights the most.
Thank you
