Gil one last this your saying port one on the falcon, looking at the 3 ports on the falcon on the far right the top port is the dmx port and its not settable, port 2 and 3 are changeable between lor and dmx so I picked the bottom port which is port 3 and set the jumpers to LOR, am I doing this the right way or do you just want me to pot it in the top port the dmx port and do it that way. sorry for all the questions I really just want to learn all this so I can understand the logic to it.

Hey guys and Keith thanks so much the other night for help and sorry at 230am it was hard to think. but I have driven my self nuts here, dragging in the viz would be easy IF all my LOR channels were back to back IF I understand this right, mine are not and I think this is the problem I am running into. Am I right?
Gil, so I will try what you're saying.

The Water Cooler / pixel strip conectors.
« on: March 26, 2020, 04:33:04 PM »
Hi everyone,
I am not sure what they are called but I had seen a photo of a person who printed a clip for pixel strips it slides on the backside of your mega tree pixel strip and you would put on one each strip and string them together to keep your pixel strips straight. and anyone tell me where to buy them and what are they called.

Hey guys, Keith and Gill I can't thank you enough for your help, I am trying really hard but I'm just not seeing what you're telling me. so I thought If I added photos so you can see what I've done and what I am seeing, it would help. and when looking at my controller's tab, please keep in mind I am just getting the hang of things this will be my first season putting Xlights to its tests for me. so not everything on my controller's tab is right yet, just so you know. I want to get my loR stuff set and done, then I will go step by step.

Keith, I am around all the time I had to shut down my wedding DJ company for the next 8 weeks and just this morning finished meeting with my 50 wedding couple booked with me with a date between now and may 1st, so now we have to help them reschedule there wedding date to a date after June 1st, man I hope this gets better quickly, anyway I am here and willing anytime to chat we can even do a zoom if you like.

Thanks, guys

Ralph

LOR / LOR setup using the xlights 2020.10
« on: March 21, 2020, 08:51:18 AM »
Hi, I am trying to understand what I need to do once I connect my LOR boxes to my falcon f16v3, I have my falcon Dmx connecter/jumper set to LOR and the ethernet cable is connected between my f16v3 and my first lor controller. I have a solid green light on lor controller so now how do i set it up in lights? I understand it will be 1 universe and the size is 1- with 510 channels but i have no idea what the rest of the setting needs to be in this newest ver of xlights.

Thanks

Ralph

Do You Need Help? Post it here / Re: Mega Tree and star question

Hi everyone, oh man so excited! and thank you all for your help, lol the wording will come in time I think and yes I have updated the screenshots, I have been working and fixing things all night and I am pretty sure I have the mega tree good to go and I got my first 6804 for my mini trees and mini stars set up in xlights and uploaded. going to text them tomorrow morning.

another question, I am trying as you see in the setup, I wanna run my lor vai the falcon. I know what to do on the falcon board, but not sure what to do to set this up on the xlights side. I did do the setup for them a long time ago before the add lor icon was there, so should I just redo what I have using the add lor?

Hope I caught it and fixed it. The 32 strands of 100 pixels is 9600 RGB's if that is the right terminology lingo. so this is 32 universe's from my screenshot its uni 14 to uni 32, then I added my pixel star which I added to the end of the thirty-second strip "end of prop" and that took me into uni 33. so now I think my mega tree is set right in xlights.

so now to the one last question,

in the layout tab of my mega tree in xlights, The controller connections section, do I need to enter a port number? and the protocol box? I'm using ws2811

Thanks, everyone and I appreciate the help, I'm starting to get it now.

HI everyone,
I really am looking forward to getting to understand this. ok, I am posting a screenshot of the layout tab and setup tab in xlights, I have not yet done upload to controller yet and was hoping someone might want to lend a hand. I know Keith has done some great videos on uploading to the falcon but I am not sure I understand the porting part. So please let me know if I have done anything wrong with the mega tree. I feel like I have because I have 32 strips at 100 pixels per strip. that's 3200 nodes and 9600 RGB's. right? so if I am right with my thinking I have to add more universe's right?

Do You Need Help? Post it here / Mega Tree and star question
« on: December 20, 2018, 11:15:30 PM »
Hey everyone,
so I have a 32 channel mega tree 100 nodes each I wanna make sure its configured right, I am starting on #14:1 and goes to #32:420 (16230) a little more detail is its 180 degrees and will be running it off my falcon v16 and expansion  board so each strip has its own channel. so I want to make sure I'm on the right track. now the second question is I have a pixel star that I think would be connected to the end of the 32 string in the tree, but I've never done this before so i did some research and is it correct to set the star so the start channel is set to start channel 1 and then set to end of model pixel mega tree? that's the way I set it but I am not sure if its right, can someone let me know if I did both correctly please, the setting up of my tree and also of the star. thanks

The Water Cooler / Hey guys, need some help non christmas question
« on: August 01, 2018, 08:43:44 PM »
HI everyone,
I need some help i'm stuck. I have something called virtual receptionist at my job and its just like a work answering system, for a better idea, you call and it answers and says something like hi thanks for calling the ABC company, press one for sales press 2 for support 3 for hours of operation and so on. you get the idea. so I am trying up load/upload a greeting I had made for me to this system. in the greeting section it gives you the option to record your own voice for the messages and greeting or i has a part that allows you to upload a 16 bit pmc wav file. now i was able to find a program to convert a mp3 to a wav but this type of wav is not so common so it was so easy doing it after all but i did find it and got it to upload. so not i go to test it out and the system is saying I didn't do anything and there are no files uploaded yet. so i call optimum my carrier and they tell me the upload is not functioning yet its for the next update for this program but now its not working yet.

So this teck guy at optimum says to me, well if you going to the section were you talk into your headset mic to record your own spoken message and use some thing called a sound card loop with no wires i can press the record button and then use this look thing to start my greeting and it plays instead of me talking into the microphone on my headset mic and the system will think its me talking and it will work fine.  the optimum guy said a couple of people he has spoken to have done it but he never paid any attention to it.  So i am hoping someone will have some kind of an idea about this and might be kind enough to help me out. thank you guys

The Water Cooler / Re: video card?
« on: July 09, 2018, 11:45:09 AM »
HI,
thanks for responding. I now have the 3 monitors up and working, one of monitors I had to get a convertor for to make it a vga to usb but it all works but now the problem is anytime i add something to a sequence like any kind of a new effect the model preview and house preview pause's and after a 4 or 5 second spand then plays. would this be a video card problem. I don't remember it taking so long with only one monitor connected but now its really apparent and a nuisance. any ideas?

Hey everyone,
I need some advice I am adding  a third monitor to my pc. and I am not sure if i need a new video card to do this. how do i check if this will even work im running windows 10 64bit with 8gig of ram. I know i could use to update my ram but what do i need to hookup 3 monitors, looking on the back my 2 monitors are hooked up to 2 seperate cards now one is hdmi and the other is dvi. so can i get a new card for all 3 or do i need to get another one just for the 3 monitor, what are my options.

Thanks
