I currently have a configuration of FPP > Sandevice (x4) E682s.  Is there anything that would prevent introducing an F16v4 into the mix (with XLIGHTS definitions or FPP)?  Are there pitfalls that would cause an issue down the road?

Thanks in advance!

Thanks to all.  I think my age is showing again, reacting before thinking to "new things" when in fact they are a better and/or will make my life easier.

Sorry Keith, I was unaware of the item roll-up when I first launched 2020.06; so I guess I reacted a little too fast.  I was just initially concerned since I identified four controllers in may setup description (Controller1, Controller2 etc), but the new menu just shows one line identified Controller1.  But since everything looks like it is there, I guess we will just wait till next year when I pull the lights out of my rafters and give it a go.

As long as you experts tell me I have nothing to worry about, that's good enough for me.

thanks.

Since I had the xlights files (2020.04) ready to go, here they are.

If you still need me to send the config files, I can do that it you still need following this note.  You are correct, all the lines were merged.  The correct number of universes are there, and the channels are correct (24480). I actually have four Sandevice controllers (E682s), but does that even matter?  Everything else seems to be correct.

I updated to the latest version of Xlights (Mac 2020.06).  I have four SANDEVICE E682 controllers (16 channels each) but when I download/launch 2020.06 (or 2020.05), only one controller is presented on the Setup page.  The layout page looks normal.  If I revert back to 2020.04, life is good and all controllers/channels are displayed.

My system:
iMac 3.7 GHz 6-Core Intel Cor i5
macOS Catalina version 10.15.3

Thanks in advance,
Bob

Disregard my last.  I see that you mean the xlights setting.  Sorry I didn't see that earlier.

Got it and was hoping that wasn't the case.  I'll update at the end of the season.  I don't want to risk breaking anything else right now.  When you say set v1 in the settings, I'm looking but don't see it in the Global Settings menu and I don't see it in the book (yet).

Thanks so much and your help is greatly appreciated.

Do You Need Help? Post it here / Updated .fseq files stopping FPPD playlist
« on: December 03, 2019, 06:55:35 PM »
Mac OS Catalina 10.15.1
FPP v1.8-63-gabcfb17

I am running my sequence from last year and all the fseq files were generated with the xlights version that would have been current around 27 Dec 2018.  My playlist of about 30 songs is running fine when I run with those fseqs .  I would have generated that playlist/sequences with the Mac Sierra current at that time.  Fortunately, I have made back-ups of all those files.

I needed to modify some minor light counts.  I downloaded the lates flight version 2019.68. I opened up a song as a test (Hark the Herald Angels Sing) and saved.  When I uploaded it to my Raspberry PI/FPP, FPPD stops whenever the updated file attempts to play.  I re-uploaded and the old Hark the Herald fseq works fine.

This may be a red herring, but I noticed that the old/good fseq file is around 103.7 MB.  The new fseq file generated with 2019.68 is only 4.1 MB.  I have opened up the sequence file, and let it play all the way to the end before saving, but it is still only about 4.1 MB.

I have attached the what appears to be the bad sequence, but can send the good file too if that would help.

My Show Setup / Re: NOTW Lights Show Setup

My apologies if this is a duplicate reply/question (from someone ignorant to Dremel etching).  How deep was your etching or is it just scratching the surface?  Thanks in advance.

Probably just me, but in the lights model info for the Boscoyo Candy Cane (48), there were buttons to reverse the model.  In the latest versions, those buttons are no longer there.  Is there a different way to reverse the model?

Thanks!

You guys are great and I have not completely ruled out operator error on my part, but thought I should pass this through you just in case.  I have a sequence that crashes every time I do a save using the most recent Xlights version (i.e., v37).  It crashes Immediately upon taking the "save" action.  I did some trouble shooting on my own and the problem does not occur with version 29 or older.  Hopefully I have attached what you need (as it happens every time I save with v31 or greater).

I have multiple sequences (10+), and this crash is only happening to this one sequence (so far),

My system is a newer MacBook Pro laptop, running OS 10.14 Mojavi.

I also noted that I get similar results on the same type of sequence on my iMac running 10.13.6 (High Sierra).  It is just not as dramatic (it doesn't crash till the rendering is complete and you exit out of the program).

It shouldn’t be corrupting the xml. Not sure what is going on there.

Just in case you have a need, I should have mentioned that I am using:
  - xlights version 2018.4
  - MacOS High Sierra version 10.13.3

But I am happy now, so don't go to any effort on my part.

Go to tools menu and clear the vendor cache. That should fix it.

Just closing the loop.  I tried all of the 24" Flake models and a couple of the 16" models, and the same thing happens.  The clearing of the cache works every time though.  Many thanks.

Once I have successfully inserted the model, using 'Create New Download', I just export the model and use the Import feature for future inserts.  I am not sure if this was the intent of how it should work, but it works fine.  I guess the other choice would be to 'Create New Download > Clear Cache, and Create > Clear for subsequent inserts for the same model.

Thanks again for all the help (and I will try not to double post)

My bad - I think I accidentally posted twice (operator error again).  I didn't think my first one went through.  Appreciate the patience.
