Bugs in xLights/Nutcracker / Model Disappears after Universe Change
« on: August 26, 2019, 01:59:09 PM »
Greetings,

It seems like I've found a bug in xLights Ver 2019.43 for the Mac, which was not in Ver 2019.33.

Here are the steps needed to reproduce this problem:
1.  Create a new show directory called Test

2.  Add the following E.131 Lighting networks
  -- Unicast
  -- IP Address: 192.168.1.220
  -- # of Universes: 4
  -- Uncheck One Output
  -- Click "Ok"

3. Change the 1st Universes' last channel to 300
  -- Click "Ok"

4. Go to the Layout Tab

5. Add two new models using "Create new Downloads"
-- Boscoyo Studio --> Halloween --> Singing Elements --> Singing Jolly Rodger
-- Boscoyo Studio --> Christmas --> Singing Elements --> Singing Babby Shark
  -- Click "Save"

6. Change the Start Channel on the Singing Babby Shark
-- Click on the Singing Babby Shark
-- Click on the Universe Number
-- Use IP Address 192.168.1.220, and Universie 3
  -- Click "Ok" and "Save"

7.  Mouse click on the Layout black background... the Shark model disappears

Note, if you mouse over the Shark model, the channel map details appear.

Let me know if you have any questons,

Scott

So I used the Shift Effects operation to move the Lip Sync Effects 250 ms using the MAC version of xLights, and it worked perfectly for the start of the song.  However, the Lip Sync Effects begins to drift out of sync with the audio track as the sequence plays.

Do you have an easy method to fix this drifting issue?

Thank you again for all the help.

Okay, I think I figured out the problem, it's not the Lyric track but when the music starts.  For some reason, the music starts differently on a Mac than the PC.

Steps to recreate the issue:
1.  Download and run the attached files using xLights v2017.29 - 64bit for PC (Windows 10)
2.  Render and execute the sequence.  Click on Boo, Mike or Sully's Face Effect; you will see the Face Mouth Movements will be in perfect timing with the lyrics and audio tracks
3.  Take the same file and install it on a Mac (macOS Sierra v10.12.6) using xLights v2017.29 - 64bit for Mac
4.  Render and execute the sequence.  Click on Boo, Mike or Sully's Face Effect; you will notice the Face Mouth Movements will not be in sync with the audio tracks

Short of buying a PC, do you have a workaround that I can use to mitigate this issue?

Thank you for all the help.

Bugs in xLights/Nutcracker / Meteors Conversion Issue
« on: September 23, 2017, 01:37:36 PM »
I believe I found a bug in the Meteors Effect object.  I created a Sequence for the song Sail that I initially used a Sequence Timing of 25 ms (40 fps).  Everything worked as expected.

I decided to change the Sequence Timing to 50 ms (20 fps) to better accommodate the default settings on the Falcon Player I recently purchased.  However, when I play the Sequence using the new timing configuration, the Meteors Effect I use for the entire Sequence fades out about 2 minutes into the song.

I'm using xLights 2017.29c 64bit for Mac.

Steps:
-- Open the attached Sequence
-- Click the Render All button
-- Start Playing the Sequence at 2 minutes, Meteors work as expected
-- Click Setting --> Sequence Settings
-- Click on the Light Bulb next to Sequence Timing, Click yes to "Are you sure?"
-- Enter "50" into the Frame Interval box, verify the entry changes the box to the right to "20.00  fps" and click OK, Click yes to "Are you sure?"
-- Click Done to close the Sequence Setting box
-- Click the Render All button
-- Start Playing the Sequence at 2 minutes, Meteors work but will fade out by 2:15.  However, this effect should still be working until the end of the sequence

Note: it may have something to do with the Meteors "Adjust count based on music intensity" property as unchecking this box somewhat fixes the issue.

Let me know if you have any questions.

This week I have been trying to import a Lyric track from Crockett Fantasy of Lights (CFOL), but the music and the Lyric track don't seem to sync.  I asked CFOL for help, and they stated they followed as designed.  Would the bug that is causing the Lyric Input Crash also be causing this issue too?

I'm using xLights for Mac v2017.27 64bit.

I look forward to your reply.
