Thanks for tip ! I didn't realize the little clock under the color swatch could be clicked on and change the behavior.  When I clicked on it and it showed an arrow going to the right it made the gradient over my line of pixels, not over time.  Right clicking on the color swatch let me edit the gradient.    A little bit obscure to find but very nice feature.

Still trying to figure out layering and morphing but will keep at it. Lots of levers to pull and buttons to press !

I have a line of 54 RGB pixels.  I want create a gradient from pixel 1 to 26 and mirror the gradient from pixel 26 to 52.

Example:  If I went from black to orange, the effect would look like a glow in the center  that gradually builds to the center color.  I am placing this strip on my window sill projecting upwards  and I am trying to make it look like how  candle light would project light if it were placed in the center of the sill.

Over time I eventually want to gradually change from one color to the next, but I still want the gradient to look the same from pixel 1 to 54.

If there were a way to create a flickering or waver to look like a candle it would be great !

I tried the fill effect but only with partial success and it feels like the wrong way to do it.  It only works for groups and I can't see how to get the color to change over time.  I would appreciate any ideas.
