Falcon Pi Player / Re: Pi will not Control 2nd LOR AC controller

Thanks Gents, greatly appreciated.
I got all the AC lights blinking through the dongle over DMX open.

Now I need to think about going DMX via the Falcon.

  Thanks

Be somewhat new to this I?ve hear before that would probably be the way to go.
I just don?t know how to do it, I?ve looked and found how to do this with LOR but I can?t seem to find anything more current for the v3 and xlights.

Falcon Pi Player / Pi will not Control 2nd LOR AC controller
« on: April 21, 2020, 09:34:39 PM »
So I did get a Pi 3B+ using FP version v4. The network is setup and I have the Falcon 16v3 connected and running sequences.
I also have 2  CTB16 LOR controllers one works, however no matter what I seem to do I can not get the 2nd AC controller to light up.
I have the FP channel output  set to a  start channel at 1 and the count is 32, Im using USB to connect.
Xlights has 1 universe with the 32 channels within it, both controllers are set to LOR optimized at unit ID 1 and 2.

I tried 2 LOR Output types. with a channel start 1 with 16 channels in each. The second controller will still not light up.

I changed the unit ID numbers in LOA for the AC controllers, the opposite controller lit up but now the other didnt.

One thing that is odd, although the first controller ID in the FP shows 1, it actually lights up #2 controller.

Once again I find myself looking for advice from those who know far more than I.

Thanks

Falcon Pi Player / Pi 3b and LOR AC Controllers
« on: April 14, 2020, 10:55:15 PM »
My laptop is on its way out and I see the Pi 3b May be the way to go.
My question is can the USB for my older LOR AC controllers simply plug into the Pi?s USB?
It doesn?t seem to make sense to put out the cash for a laptop if I don?t need to.

Im still  figuring out Xlights but have a new  falcon F16v3, expansion board and LOR controllers all working
Im just not sure how the Pi makes it all talk.

That worked, thanks.
I thought I tried all that last night, however it was 2 am, so I may have missed a set in the layout.

Do You Need Help? Post it here / Sequence Changed
« on: February 08, 2020, 02:08:56 AM »
So I’m making window frames and had to change my layout to reflect what the frames/pixels actually are. I had to update the Sub-models I had for the windows as well. Now the sequences I had previously made  are out a bit, I realise it is the direct result of what I’ve done to the layout, I just can’t figure out how to sequence running correctly now.  I remember Clyde L mentioned this in a video I watched a while back but I can’t seem to find this now.
Im wondering how to get my sequences in sync with the changes I’ve made to the layout??

Thanks

Ok I figured it out, dumb mistake. I added each controller separately rather that staying in the dialog to add each at that time. All the on line videos and support is great, so thanks.
It will take me a while, but I’ve started early. :-)

I’m trying to use option 2 but it doesn’t recognize the second controller.

Not sure what you mean by creating a list of controllers in that dialog. I’ve selected add lor for each controller with comm 4 (so 2 lines)but it doesn’t look as if that’s the way to add these LOR AC controllers.

Do You Need Help? Post it here / LOR AC Controllers
« on: January 19, 2020, 04:35:48 PM »
I’m trying to set up my LOR AC controllers . In the layout I have setup 32 individual channels, I communicate via comm port 4 running windows 10. I can get either controller to work seperately for its 16 channels. But I can’t get both controllers to work at the same time, when I do this only the first 16 channels will work depending on which controller I add first. I get a comm port error (photo attached) when I try to add the second controller. Hoping I can sort this issue out before I get into E1.31 (waiting on a Falcon to show up)

Thanks

Jeff

Took the plunge and just down loaded xLights, as soon as I login I get an Error. Message,
Unable to create backup directory ‘C:\Program Files\xLights\Backup’!

Not exactly sure what I missed
