Xlights Setup / Re: Grand Illusion - K16 - starting location question
« on: June 20, 2021, 08:37:07 PM »
UGH! because I don't have a custom model I can't easily flip - but I think I can export and import the model and get it to work....what was I thinking when I wired this up originally. build one prop...stop....test...build exact same clone...stop test..... sadly I didn't follow those instructions.

will see what I can do - thanks for the suggestion.

Xlights Setup / Grand Illusion - K16 - starting location question
« on: June 15, 2021, 07:59:19 PM »
I have two home-brew grand illusion props built and one spins clock wise and the other counter clock wise. When I switch the starting location from top inner to bottom inner nothing changes in the preview for xlights and outside on the actual prop things flip upside down. I think thats by design. When however I switch top inner - CCW to top inner CW I have an expectation that the prop would spin the opposite way...but it doesn't, what happens is the preview in the xlights spins the opposite way.

I need help understanding starting location setting in layout mode with bottom inner/top inner/etc...

is there a faq that exists....I think this might be a bug, but it also might be by design, I'm just new to these HD props (wohoo for home built CNC machine and wohoo to so many features with xlights - I just need a bit of pointing in the right direction for this one).

thanks for any guidance!
Ryan

Enhancement Requests / Re: Add Model for Controllers
« on: August 16, 2020, 07:07:31 PM »
makes sense - I was worried/thinking xlights might upload a config file and make a change to the channel output file - I'll go and set it things to FPP. still playing catchup on all new features!

It's under the KulpLights  vendor.

Will the PocketScroller be added?

Enhancement Requests / Re: BETOPPER LM30 DMX model support

that's fair...once I figure out the different channels and values I should be able to control it with the DMX effect..but thought I'd ask...because if I don't then I'll never get :)

Enhancement Requests / BETOPPER LM30 DMX model support
« on: February 07, 2019, 03:13:08 PM »
I have picked up a couple of these devices https://www.aliexpress.com/item/BETOPPER-Moving-Head-Light-Mini-LED-Spider-RGBW-Beam-Light-For-christmas-laser-projector-Spider-Stage/32859212684.htmland wondering if there is some way to incorporate a LM30 as a new DMX style. If there is already an easy way to support these devices let me know...

thanks!!

The video looks great! Can you lets us know the google share drive path?  Looking forward to trying this out

Here's a free xlights sequence, new for 2018. Alvin and the Chipmunks singing The Chipmunk Song (Christmas Don't Be Late).

A video of this sequence can be seen here:
https://vimeo.com/296286098

The sequence is posted to the upload directory of the xlights google share drive here:

https://drive.google.com/open…

The music for this sequence is on amazon at:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009CW0OG2/

If you use it on your house, I would love to see a video!

Many thanks to Logan Carpenter for sharing his free Star Wars and Trolls sequences with great graphics. Inspired by that, I wanted to give back as well. I also want to thank
Steve Ni for checking the sequence and giving me advice.

Hi Louie - I was able to do a keepvid and then export to mp3 and shifted effects by 3500ms and then I think it magically lined up...took me a few attempts to get it just right, but I think that was the sequence I took....I have always (like the last 3 years I've been doing this - so not like always and forever - ha!) wanted that song in my display, but only saw the 3+min version (and just the lms format) so was really happy that you shared. I haven't really touched xlights much in the last year (and neglected my EDM RDS project over at Falcon Christmas too - life got in the way) but wow the functionality of the software is something else now. WOW.

....so for now - kudos for sharing and kudos to the xlights team for the countless hours developing the software!!

Thanks for sharing!! Is there a version of the peanuts song that you can share (or the project file from Audacity maybe?) as I can't seem to match up the xml with my mp3 or the Vimeo (from keep vid).

Do You Need Help? Post it here / Re: Ray wu's store

I like the idea of what Gil mentioned....posting pricing and products people are getting from Ray.  I want to see Ray in business for a long long time but I'd also like to see a sub 20cent 12v pixel that is IP68 so if those prices are possible from Ray I'd like to know how much I need to spend to get the discounts :-)

New Year's Eve for me.  I take down as much props as I can but this year we have a foot or so of snow on the roof so the pixels are staying up there until March by the looks of it.  This is my first year storing lights out in the shed. Hopefully they will be ok in the extreme cold.... at least they are out of the rest of the elements
