Hi,

So following a Zoom this evening with some great xlights experts my problem has been fixed (or at least there is a workaround)

Keith found that a software bug means that from version 48 this problem appears.  Unfortunately as a new xlights user I started with version 48!

He found that in version 47 its ok and so have installed 47 and bingo, problem goes away.

if anyone else has this issue then the fix may be trying a previous version.

Keith is going to look into it further and fix it in the next release.

Update...

I've found a workaround in that I have now deliberately made the layout (and therefore the House Preview) 'wrong' (i.e. moved the models) so that the Model preview is right.

This doesn't seem to be a particularly good fix - does anyone offer paid support?

Hello again,

I've attached the log file as requested.

I ended up recreating everything from scratch and thought I'd solved the issue... finally imported a background image today and rearranged the models and the problem is back - particularly it seems with the linear string.

Please can anyone help? - we are supposed to be switching on later this week....getting a bit panicked.

Hello again,

I've done some more tests this morning following a Zoom call yesterday which unfortunately didn't result in a solution (although everyone was really helpful!)

If I 'stack' layout elements on the same origin coordinates for XYZ (0,0,0) in the Layout then in the scheduler the Model Preview and House Previews are the same - see attachment 1

If I then pick up and drag the same elements and arrange them in the correct shape in the Layout, the House Preview on the Scheduler tab matches the Layout, but the Model Preview is wrong - see attachment 2

As far as I know, I am working in 2D - certainly the 3D checkbox us unchecked.

The further objects are moved from coordinate 0,0,0 in the Layout, the bigger the difference is between preview windows in the Sequencer.

I have deleted layout elements and recreated them but it doesn't seem to change anything.

Any ideas...anyone?

Hello All,

This is my first post - just getting started with Xlights.

I am using the current version - 2020.49.  I had this same issue before updating.

I have created a group and added all the windows.  When i drop an effect onto the group in the Sequencer, the Model Preview is different to the House Preview and i don't understand why

The House Preview is correct, it matches the Layout Tab view but the Model preview shows things in the wrong place - like the linear pixel strip and top window (see attachment!)

I have tried deleting and recreating the group and the sequence but so far haven't been able to figure it out.

I would really appreciate some assistance.
