Seems like I am "losing" my LOR imported info on some saves?
« on: April 10, 2015, 03:33:21 PM »
With one of my XL4 files, when I change some NC effects in it then re-save, I "lose" my imported LOR info that was previously contained in the XL4 file.   In general, I am opening up the file in XL4 sequencer, rendering, saving, then going to the preview screen to "watch" the sequence.  In one case, I re-converted my LMS file again and re-saved but I still don't have any of the LOR info there...  This particular case might be an isolated one because some of the XL xml sequencing that I KNOW was there, I had to add back in...     Using 4.0.18...

Sounds like your doing it the hard way.  You should be using a Data Layer to import the data.  If you are using the old way then the sequence data is being wiped out by default.  If you don't want that behavior then for each sequence you need to change the setting under Settings -> Render Mode and make it Canvas Mode.

Using a data layer is a better method because you will never get artifacts in your data and you never need to reconvert unless you change your source data.   And we make the re-import easy by providing a re-import button on the data layers page and it knows where the original LMS file is sitting.  If you keep doing it the old way you will be constanting re-importing the LOR data every time you move some effects around or shorten them because they will leave scars in the data.

I was kind of waiting on Sean to post his "how to" video on importing LOR data, then I was going to do what he taught for each of my imported LOR files.   Thanks Gil.  I did not realize that button was there!! I checked it to the setting you recommended.
