Not quite a bug but a problem
« on: May 04, 2015, 03:34:17 PM »
I use dual monitors for version 4. Both are 1440 x 900
I program on the left screen and have all the little windows on the right screen.
Saved in Perspective. All is well.

until

I got the XML files from Tom Willows for his newest creation. Apparently, his right monitor is larger than mine and the Palette window is "off screen" to the right.

I've poked around for where that info is stored, but no luck. I can always go back to my setup file (because I did do a backup first), but just want to know.

I think there is a restore to defaults option for the perspectives.

Ok, found it. In the xlights_rgbeffects.xml file (where I thought it "should" be)

near the bottom, is the "Perspectives" block of data.

The "floatx" value for the Color panel was 2496 (way too far over). I changed it to 496, and when I restarted v4 it was in the middle of my left screen, ready to move.

Now I know. The "reset toolbars" choice in Settings did nothing for me. :(
