Old school mega tree
« on: May 15, 2015, 03:20:04 PM »
I'm having an issue with some of my models not working correctly with an imported LOR sequence.  I have everything mapped in the hardware (96 LOR channels) and some of my models don't work correctly when playing my sequence after rendering the imported sequence.

My LOR sequence is all on one network and is mapped through controller 6 channel 16.  All of the AC channels are mapped in the setup correctly.

How do you go about figuring out why this isn't converting correctly?

Thanks!
Paul

Could you describe "not working" with a lot more detail? What is working? What isn't? What LOR effect is in the "not working" portion?

Are they mapped in the models correctly?

Are they mapped in the models correctly?

As far as I can tell.  I've set each of the models to separate channel numbers that increase.  So there is one channel mapped to each strand of lights I have.

I have 8 windows.  Each has a frame on it with 2 channels mapped to it, one for a color, one for white.  So in the models, I have a separate model for each on each window.  Total 16 channels and 16 models.

My next LOR controller handles 8 coro trees I have in my yard.  Each tree has 2 channels mapped to it, one for a color on the tree, one for white because each tree has 2 strands on it.  Each tree is two models just like the window frames. The models are placed on top of each other in my preview, just like the windows.

Could you describe "not working" with a lot more detail? What is working? What isn't? What LOR effect is in the "not working" portion?

Some of the windows work correctly.  The first coro tree (channel 17) never lights up when I play the sequence.  This is wrong since in LOR it is being sent commands, but in xLights after an import, it doesn't work (never lights up).

Additionally, I have a mega tree in my models.  It is actually made up of 5 mega trees.  Each is a single color with 12 strands.  Each strand is a separate channel.  These map to a starting channel and each strand is an incremental number from the starting channel, just like my mega tree in real life.  12 strand of red, starting with channel 33 and ending with channel 44.  Green starts at channel 45...  You get the idea.  The tree has commands in the sequence that are imported, but it doesn't light up in xLights like it does in LOR.  The mega tree (60 channels), the star on the tree (3 channels) and the flashers (1 channel), with the windows and the coro trees round out the 96 channels on the LOR network.  One of the coro trees, the mega tree, the megatree star and mega tree flashers never work/come one on the imported LOR sequence in xLights even though there are command in the imported sequence.

I can attach anything you would like to take a look at.  I'm sure it's something I'm probably doing wrong, but I've followed the videos and it looks right to me.

Well, it looks like it fixed itself once I created a new sequence.

Thanks!

Good, because I couldn't identify a spot where you missed something. It may have just needed to updated the XML file that stores your setup and then have a restart.
