Sequence crashes in 4.00.33
« on: May 25, 2015, 05:45:26 AM »
Hello,

I created a new sequence, defined one model 'Singing faces' and imported a purchased LOR sequence (using the Import effects tab) , which came through very well ! Saved the sequence.
Then opened it again and added all my models , then pressed save. It displayed a number of messages indicating that some models could not be found eg Lanterns etc - which are old models , so not sure where it is getting these from , but it still saved the sequence. Noticed that I could not see the sequence information of the singing face in the sequencer ,(but it still played in preview I think),  but was not sure.
Imported audacity timing marks and pressed save and it crashed.

So I tried this a few more times ie re opened the seq to import audacity timings and either save , or render first , then save , but it kept crashing. Have not yet added any effects.

I opened up your xlights_rgbeffects.xml and searched for "Lanterns" and found where those messages are coming from.  You have a group called "Model Group All" which contains some names that don't exist anymore.  How it got into that state might be an issue we need to fix if we can figure out how to cause it again.  You should be able to fix up that model group in the model group editor dialog.

I don't get a crash saving your file but I didn't have the audacity text file you are importing.  Can we get that file?

Thank you Gilrock,

I have attached a zip file with the three audacity file to the post above. I would have added the beats one and the bars one at least , and perhaps all three the first time.

I will remove those model names - thank you.

At some stage a few days ago , I renamed the models and added the word 'Group' so 'Lanterns' became 'Lantern Groups' etc etc as I was confused looking through the videos and previous posts as to when to use a 'model group' and when to re-define the same thing twice ie (all) Arches encompasses Arches 1 - 7, so that you can either drop an effect at the 'group level' or individual level. Still learning ...

I have removed the old groups and did an hours sequencing , saving every 5 minutes with no problem .

Then :
another crash occurred and I have attached the debug report as well as a screen print.
Just prior, I added a new model 'SingingFaces2' , by copying the existing one .
clicked on preview, tried to move the model.
clicked on Save
It crashed , but also displayed a brief message indicating that it was unable to generate a debug report, but still appeared to create one when I said okay. However as per the screen print , the location is blank.

Still on 4.00.33

Just before it crashed - I had saved a few times with no problem. (am saving after every 5  minutes )
then closed the effects window , opened it again, added one effect to the horizontal model .
press save and it crashed .
