VERY long save times
« on: July 27, 2015, 02:00:13 PM »
Started working using 'create random effects' on all channels in a routine and the save times seem inordinately long.....I'm talking 1992 seconds!  The display contains 55 models with 10872 channels of lights .  My computer is a Win 8.1 with an Intel i7-4770k cpu @ 3.5 GHz with 12 GB  of memory.  The resource monitor says xLights is using 25% of the cpu.
The same routine on an old Win 7 machine with an Intel i3-2100 cpu and 8 GB of memory takes 49 seconds.
Is this a Win 8 issue?  or is xLights not set up correctly.

Regards-

Are you comparing the exact same version of xLights on the two machines using the exact same sequence file?

Did you apply the random effect to the models or to the nodes?

Do not ask to know all the answers, but ask to understand the question.

Yes, both machine are working with the same files.

You said files, that to me implies the data files.  The question was are you using the exact same version (release) of xlights?
