Audacity
« on: August 01, 2015, 11:28:39 AM »
I am trying to open an aup file that was downloaded from the forum here a long with the song I downloaded from amazon.  The file names MP# and AUP match but I get errors opening the AUP file saying
"Couldn't find the project data folder: "05 Happy (From_Despicable Me 2_)_beats_data"
I click ok then I get
Can not load file: " C:\lor\desktop\happy\05 Happy (From_Despicable Me 2_)_beats.aup"
Any one know what I am doing wrong?
Thanks In advance for the help!

You must have all the files in the paths listed as you posted them.

Do you have 05 Happy  (From_Despicable me 2_)_beats.aup   in the c:\lor\desktop\happy folder?

An aup file is an Audacity project file.  You can try this yourself.  Just open a song in Audacity and choose Save Project.  It will save the project file as .aup along with a directory of the same name plus "_data".  There are several subfolder levels and at the bottom mine had 68 files.

Hello mg,
What did you Ned to do ie are your trying to retrieve something that was done before, or do you just need the beats or bars generated for the song ?

I am actually trying to use an AUP file that HEARTHSTONELIGHTS shared on the forum here at the bottom of this page:
http://nutcracker123.com/forum/index.php?topic=364.0

and use it with  the mp3 file I got from Amazon so that it will match the xml file HEARTHSTONELIGHTS
Also shared. But when opening the AUP file I get the errors above. If I play the mp3 with his xml file in xlights the song is to long for the sequence.
Will the AUP file shared by someone not make changes to a new mp3 file or do I misunderstand and need to make my on changes in Audacity.

What they were trying to get at above with .AUP file is not the files you are after.  The .AUP will allow Audacity to REDO what the original poster did years ago for editing the song, and I ASSUME generating the various label tracks.  I have not loaded an AUP with labels tracks, but it may save them with it.

Reopen the .aup in Audacity.  You will hopefully see the .mp3 editied so you can reexport it with the proper settings, be allowed to save all the label files tc.

Yes Alan thanks for the info. That is what I am trying to do but get the errors listed above. Maybe if someone gets a chance they can download the files and see if it will work. Maybe some thing on my computer. I am using Audacity 2.1.1 I had 2.0.3 but upgraded it to see if I had a problem
