Model/Layout Question
« on: August 31, 2015, 04:52:39 AM »
I'm a little confused how to set up models for single color string items.

If I have a tree with 2 single color strings, I know I can create 2 separate models. In layout do I just size the 2 models the same and place them on top of each other?

I have a lot of objects with more than one single color string and this just seems like it could get confusing if I start moving things around in the layout.

That is how I did my 4 color mini-trees. I have 16 of them and I created models for each color for each tree.  It is time consuming but once you have the 4 color models for a tree, place then almost on top of each other and be done with it.  The layout process does take time but once you have it completed you can leave it alone. Also, suggest you set up model groups for each tree and assign the 4 colors in my case to that model group.

Thanks  I thought that was going to be the answer, I was hoping that I missed something. This is my first year not using vixen. When I started playing around with xlights 4 I had finally found a sequencer that worked how I always thought they should.  Luckily I still have a few months!
