Saving models
« on: September 20, 2015, 02:02:40 PM »
If this functionality already exists, please let me know...

It would be nice if model settings were saved when one clicks the Okay button on the model list dialog.  Alternatively, perhaps they could be saved when a sequence is saved.  Currently, it appears models are only saved when existing Xlights.

I spent a couple of hours configuring models and channels settings and created a test sequence to verify the layout.  I saved the sequence several times so I;d have a version to roll back to if needed.

Unfortunately, my machine crashed (BSOD) near the end of this exercise.  Once back up and running, I found the sequence was intact, but I lost all the work I;d done on the models.

Thanks,
pcb

On the Layout tab we gave you a Save button if you would like to save the models before you exist the sequence.  I personally like to do experiments with new models and I routinely discard those changes when I exit the program so I don't want it auto-saving when I hit OK.  It used to do that and I removed it.  I don't believe a program should do saves like that without your knowledge.

Thanks for the quick reply.  I didn't realize the Layout Save button also saved the models.
