A different type of star model
« on: April 17, 2014, 10:17:25 AM »
I am currently using the standard star model which forms a star with 10 straight 'lines', however I built my 5 sided star (tree topper) with five 'intersecting' straight lines using rigid pixel strips. (See attachment). It was easier to fabricate and simpler using 5 rigid pixel strips. I came out beautiful.

However, the geometry does not always equate 1:1 so when designing geometric shapes and patterns with nutcracker, I don't always get the intended result that I want. It's kind of 'hit or miss' as the model I built has 5 basic intersecting 'lines' and the nutcracker star model has 10  straight 'lines'. Different geometry.

If there was an 'intersecting' star shape as pictured in the attachment below, I believe I would get patterns and results which would more exactly match the predicted nutcracker previews.

Any chance of getting a new model of a 'intersecting' star shape? It would make nutcracker more powerful!! --Greg--
