Mp3 out of sinc
« on: November 06, 2015, 09:00:45 PM »
I was working on my laptop and made several changes to my models and I sequenced a song. I got home and wanted to move the sequence to my desktop. I copied the xml file and the rgbeffects file to my desktop.
loaded the sequence and told xlights where the mp3 was. I rendered the file and hit play. The effects started but no sound until about 7 seconds into the sequence. The wave form starts where it should be but no sound. I checked the file on my laptop and it played fine. I had updated to 4.2.20 so I rolled back to 4.2.18. still the same thing. Its just that one song everything else is in sinc.....

I don't know why the mp3 plays on the laptop but late on the desktop. I opened a new sequence on the laptop using the mp3 and its in sinc. Doing the same thing using the same files on the desk top the music is about 7 seconds out of sinc. I ran the mp3 through an mp3 converter (re-converting ?) and the using the new mp3 file with the sequence on  the desk top is now in sinc... this is the only music file I have had an issue with just strange...sorry for the mini vent.

Did you copy the mp3 file across ? Sound like they may be different files.

Perhaps you changed it to be a constant bit rate (it is CBR right ?) or did some other changes to one and not the other ?
