Change Sequence Timing / Resolution? (solved)
« on: November 25, 2015, 08:36:09 AM »
I was dumb and made a sequence at only 50ms resolution. Shimmers are too slow. Can I convert it to 25ms or do I have to create a new one? The Sequence Timing menu is disabled in the sequence settings dialogue.

Thanks in advance.

Changing from 50ms to 25ms won't increase the speed.  It will double the size of your file though.  You need to play with the cycle count setting to get it to speed up.

No, it does affect shimmer.   The shimmer is every other frame so a 25ms timing is twice the speed.

Anyway, steps:
1) close the sequence/xLights
2) delete the fseq file
3) Edit the XML file for the sequence and change the "50 ms" to "25 ms"

Start xLights, open the sequence, hit save.

Dan, are there any other effects that the speed is directly affected by the timing of the file?  We should probably document this and put it in the manual for future reference.
