Help please if possible
« on: November 29, 2015, 01:23:20 PM »
Hi all
Can you help two very dejected English men? This is my first venture into this wonderful hobby  I have a 360 degree tree that is 18ft tall with 8 x 50 strings of 2811 LED,s Folded in a zig zag (16 x 25) and controlled by an E682 controller one half of tree going into 1-1 thru 1-4 and the other half into 3-1 thru 3 -4  Two PSU’s. We cannot get our universes and channels correct and my effects are all over the place. I have attached some images of our settings and ask for your assistance as my time is tight and I would like to get it all up and working for the children that go to school past our house. What should we be entering? We both hate giving up but on this occasion we feel we have been beaten even though we have scoured your wonderful manual. I fully realise you are all very busy getting your wonderful display up and working but we hope you can guide us to success.
Many thanks in advance
Paul and my very god friend Lewis

Hello all

Well amazing what a good English Sunday roast will do re visited the cold workshop and I got it working, settings I used can be seen in new image. One problem all my sequences seem to have a fairly fast blink on them (no steady colours) any ideas?

Only heard of a blink to it if you have two different things sending data across the network at the same time. Maybe turn off output to lights in xlights, or see if another program is running outputting data. good luck.

You could download SACNView and see what info is getting sent to your controller--it shows what the signals are (0 to 255 each channel) and shows where the signal is coming from (e.g., xlights, other....).   Anyway, it is a wonderful tool for figuring out just what the heck is going on with your universes!!!

food for thought what size wire and how long are they. Rememeber that data lines can be corrupted with power lines too close at long runs. any open conections with moisture can also cross data to data and power into the data lines. This will create strange affects in the lights.

Power supplies checked and adequate. Flashing was caused by erroneous entries on the E131 Set up. Repeat of lines 1 etc.further down the list. Deleted these and all ok.

Many thanks to those who offered advice. My tree should now be going up tomorrow ready to switch on on Saturday.
