I'm sure it's something easy, but I just installed xlights 4.2.24 on a system just to do sequence creation on, setup my network (3x512 e131), added a single model 'starburst' (vert matrix, 25strings, 7 nodes), went to sequencer, created a new musical sequence 'Test', edited the display elements to show my 'starburts', created a couple of timing marks, click in one of the timing marks on the starburst and when I left click any effect in the effects window, the icons near the menu, of the effect settings window, I get 'Drag & Drop operation failed'. If I select a timing in the model, right click and choose 'create random effect', I will get an effect applied.
Any ideas on this?
