Mega tree 90 degrees off
« on: December 23, 2015, 07:35:11 PM »
I finally have everything hooked up and was testing mega tree, all effects are off 90 degrees. I have tried everything I can think of with no luck
Specs:
100 nodes starting at bottom left folded at the top. 16 string tree with 50 nodes per string. For a total of 800 nodes
Using fpp in bridge mode through fpd to f16 v1 starting at channel 1

I have 2 of these and both are doing the same thing. I am bringing in each display item and putting different effects on them with output to lights button pushed. It has got to be some thing simple but I cannot figure it out as the brain is too tired. So close but yet so far lol. I am only about 2 weeks behind but they do light  :)

Where is your first output physically connected to the mega tree ie where is the first channel. Can you shift it 90 degrees and see ?

My alpha16 outputs ar not in line with 1-16 string so i had to adjust the output channels in my model based on physically connecting them from rght to left.
Use test mode to determine output mapping and adjust model?

. So you understand a little better, if I put a spiral on the tree, it spirals top to bottom not left to right. All of the effects are doing the same thing starting at the top to the bottom no matter what I change. Not sure if its software or hardware related. I am going to pull the boards in the morning and reflash them to see if that helps. May have got corrupted. But I really appreciate the help thus far

So, your actual lights and the preview don't match? If so, then it's not software, you have things configured incorrectly on the hardware side.

The easiest way to troubleshoot is put an on effect on a single node and work your way through the string. The preview and the actual lights should correspond.

If you can post screenshots sometimes we can spot something wrong.  I'd show the model dialog for the tree and any setup in the controller.

I have had instances with the Spiral effect where my setting were so "far off" that the spiral did seem to be reversed.

But, if it looks correct (like you want it) in your Layout and Preview screens but is rotated on the actual display, then there is definitely a controller setup problem.

I think he's done trying. Noticed a post on another forum where he is selling his stuff.
