Automated backup of sequences
« on: January 02, 2016, 11:41:40 PM »
I would like two things about backup changed:

1. Have an option to do backup whenever xlights is closed/opened (your choice). Optionally, do this as a differential backup (only changed objects since last backup).

2. Have an option to do backup whenever a sequence is changed. Sometimes, I just start down a path and mess up the sequences and say to myself - I wish I had yesterday's sequence to go back and take a look. But I didn't press F10 yesterday. I have tried to remember to save as - but that actually messes up my show folder and makes it hard to work with "the show".

One of the benefits of Dropbox.  Every time I hit save it creates a version that lasts for 30 days.  Very helpful for the 'Oh S' moments when you save and need to step back.

Remember that this is a cross platform application for Windows/OSX/Linux.   File management features, especially differential backups will probably not developed, or I would be very surprised if they were.
